Introduction Skil is a company that any power tool enthusiast has heard of, but probably not a company that most part-time hobbyists have seen before. This is because many of their power tools are of an advanced variety. Part of their attempt to get away from that particular brand is this power wrench, which is designed to be one of the most user friendly and all purpose power wrenches available on the market today. Does the power wrench meet those goals? Read on to find out! Ease of Use Whenever a product aims to be user friendly, naturally the first area in which it will be tested is the ease of use. In the case of this Skil product, the ease of use test is one that it passes with flying colours. Using the wrench to do what wrenches do is very easy, so it accomplishes the primary purpose of the tool’s design handily. In addition to that however, it is designed in such a way that even though it is a power tool, you might be able to use it in areas that you would not be able to fit a normal wrench into because of the streamlined design that it has. Handling is easy as well, meaning that the basics of ease of use (purpose, contingency and handling) are all aspects that make this power wrench one of the most user friendly products of its kind around. Convenience When looking for convenience in a power wrench, the place one immediately should start is the charging system. A power wrench by definition is a convenient product because it takes the twisting of a wrench and automates is to the degree that you do not have to perform any of the twisting motions. That gain however can easily be turned into a loss if the charging system is bulky and/or difficult to use and there have been many power wrenches in the past that have lost big points because of this. The Skil power wrench is not one of them however, because their charger is small, mounted to the wall and allows for 18 months of standard non-use charging time when it has fully charged the power wrench. It even includes surge protection built into the actual product so that you can leave your wrench on the charger as long as you want without having to worry about it drawing too much power and getting damaged as a result. Versatility One last point that is worth mentioning about this power wrench is that it is quite the versatile product. In addition to being able to get into the small corners because of its compact design, this power wrench also has both a forward and reverse setting so that you can use it for all of your wrench work. Such a detail is a minor thing, but it really does make the difference between recommending a product and strongly recommending it. Because of attention to details like that one, this Skil product is a strong recommendation. |
