Ease of Use

One of the biggest concerns when dealing with a multi-tool is how easy it is to switch from one tool to the next.  In order to evaluate the Sonicraft, we switched to all of the different tools. We were surprised by the ease of use.  We were able to switch from one tool to the next without a problem. This made it very easy to complete a project.  We did not lose our momentum as we switched tools.  We were able to make the switch quickly and continue with our work.

Quality of Job

We were impressed by the quality of the job the Sonicraft did. However, we did notice the user must let the Sonicraft do the work. If forced, it will not perform as well as it can.  Thus, users must be willing to let the tool guide them.  If they do that, they will likely be pleased.

Versatility

Our favorite quality of this tool was the versatility.  We were able to use it on a variety of projects. We enjoyed going around our homes and seeing what the tool could accomplish.  We had read other Rockwell Sonicrafter reviews that said the tool could work on a variety of projects, but we did not understand the extent of it until we had it in our hands.    It can take on an impressive amount of work. We were able to capitalize on the versatility because it could go from one project to the next without overheating.  We were able to use this tool for hours at a time without noticing any problems.

Durability of the Blade

Durability of the blade is always an issue when buying these types of tools.  One does not want to have to replace the blade after every project.  We were impressed by the durability of the blade of this tool.  We were able to complete lots of projects without wearing down the blade.

In addition, when the blade does need to be replaced, the task is easy.  One does not  have to understand a great deal about tools in order to replace the blade.  Just as it is easy to switch from one function to the next, it is easy to replace the blades when needed.

The Rockwell Sonicrafter is a versatile tool that can perform in a variety of situations.  The product gives a lot of bang for the buck, which is why it is one of the most popular multi-tools available.  Professionals and novices alike can use the tool to get the job done.  Those who want a tool that will help them complete home projects can pick up the Rockwell Sonicrafter.

  I had looked at the Fein Multimaster, but couldn't justify the price. I bought the Sonicrafter specifically to sand between the rails of a baby crib I built for my daughter. This tool will see as much use as my random orbital sander! It's very well made, and does a superb job. A couple of experiential comments: 1. The tool is a fast worker, let IT do the work for you.

  For $208 I bought the 37 piece kit and a diamond segment saw, a carbide triangle saw, and a blade cleaner. (the 37 piece kit is the cheapest with variable speed; the least expensive kit is not variable speed). The harder the material you work on, the higher the speed needs to be set. According to the manufacturer, it is running the tool on too low a speed that causes overheating and excessive blade wear.
