This combo pack from Makita has been taking the world of power tools by storm because of the fact that it is essentially a primary finishing kit tied together in one.  The combo pack includes a drill, an impact driver for screws and a flashlight to help you shed some light on the areas of the house that you might not be able to see otherwise.  People that have done handiwork before can already see the benefits of getting all three of these power tools together, but just because a combo pack has good choices for its constituent elements does not mean that each of those elements are of a quality worth purchasing.  This review takes a closer look at each aspect of this combo kit.

The Drill

The drill is probably the lynchpin of this particular combo kit and for that reason it deserves the highest level of scrutiny when it comes to discerning how it does as a power tool.  The ratings on this drill lend themselves to an overall 450 pounds of torque and the actual tool only weighs about three and a half pounds.  That is quite impressive and independent tests have verified that those numbers are correct.  The drill can be charged in 15 minutes and runs on an ultra-durable lithium-ion battery, meaning that you will not have any problems with reliability while you are enjoying the excellent performance that this power tool promises to deliver.

The Impact Driver

An impact driver is essentially a power tool for pushing screws into the wall.  Whether they are wooden screws that are being pushed into studs or normal screws that you need in order to finish up a particular project, the impact driver is what all of the professionals of today use when they are doing work that needs to be done right.  It has the ability to provide over 1200 pounds of torque with just 2.8 pounds of weight, a ratio that is absolutely spectacular when compared to similar power tools available from other companies.  This power tool has the ability to push a screw in snugly to a level that a human muscle could never hope to match and for that reason will have no problems in regards to its overall excellence as a power tool.  Reliability is not an issue either as the impact driver operates under the same 15-minute charge and lithium-ion power source principles as the drill in the same kit.

The Flashlight

Keeping it real for a moment, one needs to acknowledge that it is very hard to screw up flashlights.  In fact, even if this flashlight were a total dud, people would still make this purchase because of how good the drill and impact drivers are. Fortunately, the flashlight uses a xenon bulb and shines extremely bright, allowing you to direct light into the darkest areas of your workstation.  For that reason, it makes a decent addition to a combo kit that already includes two excellent power tool products.
