Bissell Projeat 2x

The Bissell ProHeat 2X comes almost completely assembled. The only part you have to add is the handle and 4 screws with a Phillips screw driver. The total setup time was less than five minutes. I decided to go with the Bissell 3X concentrate formula for my first set of cleaning and I was not disappointed. We have a small dog that was not potty trained very well for a while but now behaves well, but I was still left with all these dog stains. Instead of paying a commercial company to clean my carpets I decided to DIY steam clean the carpets. With the down turn in the economy I got a very good deal on the bissell from my local home depot.

Does it Clean Dog Stains?

Yes! I must admit I was quite skeptical. I did a clean two weeks ago and the carpet is still spotless looking. I have noticed in the past with commercial cleaners the stains/spots "re-appear" after a week or so. Not so with this Bissell Cleaner!

Does it Clean Heavy Traffic Areas?

Once again I was pleasantly surprised. We have hallways upstairs that are carpet and has heavy traffic between 4 bedrooms used by my kids, pet, friends and of course my wife and I. This area you could really see it clean up nicely and a week later it looks better than the half we did not do (yet).

Is It Easy to Use?

It really does not get much easier. There is a separate bladder for the clean water and the suctioned up dirty water and also a separate container for the cleaning product of choice, again I went with Bissell 3X concentrate and worked great. They also have pet stain versions and others. I have no idea if it will help protect my carpet as it claims, but it can't hurt. Once you turn on the heat you wait one minute while the water warms (starting with warm/hot water speeds up this process but isn't required) you start at the far end of a room/hallway and work you way backwards. You do about a 3x3 square foot area with it spraying the carpet with hot water + cleaner. Then you come back through that area and suction it up. This second step may require more than one pass depending on the settings you used for spray. I went with "normal" spray and it was sucked up pretty good in two passes. A 10x10 foot room will take you about 15 minutes. Really fast!

Does it Leave the Carpet Wet Long?

No. The carpet in our house, with the heat on (cold outside) at about 68o farenheit, dried in less than two hours. I can recall some steam cleaner companies the carpets were wet the next morning. YUCK! Not so with the Bissell.

Recommendation and Rating

After doing my own do-it-yourself steam cleaning with this bisselll proheat 2x in 3 rooms now I can highly recommend the product. I have not used it long enough to warn on belt braking or slipping but so far so good. I give this steam cleaner a 5 out 5 based upon bang for the buck. So what are you waiting for? DIY deep steam clean your own carpets and stop giving away your money!

The thing is clogged. probbly hair. tank the tank off and pop out the jets. also the belts break easily which your not gonna find easily. Im on my second bissell pro heat 2. one of the belts broke within 2 weeks of owning it and couldnt find a belt to replace it and than parts just started falling off within 6 months. but it does work well till it starts falling apart.

Yep, that's exactly what it is. Now how do I unclog the heater!!

Not spraying, have tried cleaning all hoses even using compressed air. Replaced pump, replaced solenoid, cleaned heater which was barely dirty with crystalized cleaner.

Finally took handle apart and found bread board with components that work with the cleaner solution switch in the handle. Hmmmm.
