Framing basement walls can be complicated because of all the different situations and obstacles that can occur. Therefore, there are different basement framing techniques that can be done. If your goal is to have a warm and comfortable basement, the perimeter walls should be framed with 2”x4” construction. If you use 2”x4” studs on the perimeter, you can install insulation, which can create a warmer room. If you do not need your basement to be warm, 2”x2” furring strips can be used. They can be glued and nailed directly into the concrete. Also see finishing a basement in 6 planning stages.

Installing wallpaper borders is a simple project that can transform a room from plain and dull to exciting and cool. While installing wallpaper can be a messy project, wallpaper borders are not as messy to deal with. Why is it easier to do than wallpaper? The Man Cave is a sacred place in the home where a man can go to get away from the rest of the world. It is the man’s special place where no-one is allowed in the household, unless otherwise invited. It is the place where he is allowed to do whatever it is he wants without the nagging of a wife or the whining of kids. This is the place where the boys can be boys, and they can be left alone while they have a cold beer while watching the big game or while doing whatever their hobby is. Cleaning an iron is not something you likely think of doing on a regular basis, if you think of it at all. However, it is important to keep your iron clean and maintain it for optimum performance. There are two parts of your iron that needs to be cleaned: the soleplate and the reservoir.
Why do you need to clean your iron? Detergent, starch spray, and fabric softener can leave a build up on your soleplate, which can then stain your clothes. If your reservoir is dirty, the steam vents, which are the little holes in your soleplate, can become clogged with minerals from the water.

Wall anchors are used to hang items that are light to moderate in weight into the areas of drywall that do not have wall studs. Whether you need to install wall anchors for pictures, decorative items or shelves, it is necessary to install wall anchors, especially if you are trying to hang something where there is not a wall stud. Installing wall anchors keeps hanging screws from ripping out of your drywall due to their weight.
You can choose from a variety of different types of wall anchors. Determining which wall anchors to use depends on how heavy the item is and how much of a load will be placed on the wall anchor.
The three most common wall anchors include:
- Plastic wall anchors
- Hollow wall anchors
- Toggle bolts
