TOPIC: Remodeling of kitchen table

Remodeling of kitchen table 2 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
I bought a used kitchen table and 4 chairs, and I would like to get rid of some scratches.

What would be the best coating to use after I sand it down? I'm thinking about water based polyurethane, but I'd like to know if there's something better than that.

I refinished a similar table a few years ago. I sanded it down with an orbital sander and finished it with the water based polyurethane. I think I put two coats on the legs and supports and three or maybe four on the table top. It has held up fine and still looks really good.

I just did this with my coffee tables. The first thing that you want to do is to get a stain remover to get any stain that they have on the table off. Then sand it down. Then you can either get a stain you like and stain it first or just keep the original color and use the polyurethan. I would suggest putting more than one coat of polyurethan on the table top.

I am not sure if there is anything better than polyurethane for your project.

I had a friend who refinished a table and, after she re-stained it, she applied an epoxy resin, much like the sort that is used on the tops of bars. She was very happy with it.

The only problem I see with the resin is that it can scratch, and it is probably difficult to remove for maintenance.

There is really no average cost. It depends on how many cabinets you order, the quality of the cabinets, how much of the work you do and how much you hire someone else to do. One idea is to check with the kitchen design showrooms or lumber yards in your area to see if they have discontinued displays they are getting rid of...these can be a pretty good deal. Be sure to double check your measurements and maybe bring digital pics of what you have and show someone who knows what they are doing.dining chair

Seems like it needs to be stripped all the way down, sanding works. Then water based PU works great, do plenty of coats, especially on the top...

I think this is the best advice. I did this as well on one of the study table that I bought last year. And the polyurethan works best.

I have no experience in home renovations but like so many other do-it-yourself,
I turn to the Internet for help in planning and executing my home-improvement
projects. When doing a small kitchen remodel, paint your kitchen light, bright
colors.Choose light cabinetry as well.

Hello guys!

What is usually the average cost of remodeling a kitchen? I have a small kitchen. ?
My kitchen has enough room for a 2 seated table. I am interested in getting new cabinets above the stove and below the sink. Just getting advice.

Depends on your contractor,if your contractor is professional he will charge more but you can expect quality work from them.

I am remodeling my kitchen and not sure on the lighting. It is a fairly small kitchen with no island or table. I am thinking of doing recessed can lights but also would like something decorative in the center of the room.
