Water sepage in retaining wall 2 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
We are staying in a water logged area and since we have a retaining wall for the support of the wall inside.We have a book shelf attached to the wall and the problem we are facing is that the self is always moist and the books inside the shelf are spoiled.How to get rid of this problem any one has an idea?

Hi you have mentioned that you live in a water logged area and you have a self at the same wall. I think the problem as you are rightly guessing is the water sepage through the retaining wall. What you should have done is that you should have made a proper drain at the bottom of the retaining wall which would have reduced your water sepage more.Now what you can do is you can do a proper water proofing on the retaining wall

Hi You should plan for the proper drainage for the water underneath the draining wall.

I have heard people say to seal it from the inside, or big the outside out and put a plastic liner against the wall.

You should have made a proper drain at the bottom of the retaining wall which would have reduced your water seepage more.

Yeah I agree. A proper drain at the bottom of the retaining wall should solve the problem...
