Just like what I replied on the other thread, I think the best is to put up a CCTV camera on your house. One good alarm system is a wireless motion sensor alarm.

You might also like to check out this guide first before deciding to add an alarm system in your house:

A wireless motion sensor will work great. As for a cctv unless you are willing to sit in front of the screen or watching the video after you got robbed, I don't see the necessity.
You can always pay someone to watch it should you afford it.

Motion Sensor activated is a great way to complement your home's existing security system with some added outdoor protection.

I moved into a foreclosure home that had an APEX installed Lynx-NR wireless system. I had nothing on the system so I did some web searching, found the manual, and in it found out how to reset the master code so I could basically re-program it anyway I wanted. I'm using it un-monitored right now, but with some reading anyone can reprogram these units. You can also buy an add on wireless keypad so you can hide the main unit and program it from a wireless keypad in your bedroom for example, I really like it.
