CFL's are a bust. Now LED's. They just seem too expensive for how much light they produce. I know there are some very bright ones but they are crazy expensive. Is anyone switching to LED's?

Many are making the switch despite the cost, but why do you say CFLs are a bust?

They seem to overall break or fail easily and don't last as long as touted. They perform about as well as premium light bulbs so the cost factor doesn't seem to pan out. At least that's my experience over a few years.

If you purchased CFLs a few years ago I can definitely understand. Its taken the technology a few years to catch up with (or perhaps simply approach) all the hype. The same will happen with LEDs. The tech is already improving and prices should come down significantly over the next few years.

New technologies always have a few problems when they first arrive.

Also, a lot depends on the brands you use.
